My weekend was awesome!! On Friday I cleaned my room and now its "spotless". Spotless meaning clothes and pillows everywhere. I also went to the Olive Garden to celebrate my sister graduating from ISU. On Saturday I had a sleepover with two of my friends. It was awesome. We watched a lot of Netflix. We were messing around and I fell off the couch and shattered my phone. It was bad. Then after that we made ourselves food (in the microwave) and then we watched cyber bully and went to bed. On Sunday we woke up and went to Kohl's to get my moms mothers day present. I got her a Fit-bit charge. After we gave it to my mom and ate breakfast we went outside and played with sidewalk chalk with my neighbor. Then I went with my friend to her house and we went out to eat with her mom, then after that we went home and discovered that there was a new park next to my house. But unfortunately it started pouring when we got there. So we sat on the front porch and watched the "storm". After it was sunny again we went back to the park and made new friends. I was trying to skip the stairs and just jump and my landing spot was wet and I fell it hurt. We played wood-chips. We also discovered really cool equipment. Then we read on my front porch until we had to go in and get ready for bed. I hope your weekend was as amazing as mine!!
We got drawn to do a presentation on a invertabrate, I got drawn to do a sponge. This is our presentation for sponges..
Im going to tell you about my weekend. On friday I went to the races at the fairgrounds. I also went up on top of the toter and sat in a puddle.. it was cold! After the races Friday I went home with my friend Carly. On saturday I went to Carlys school for showtime. Showtime is where there school perfromes all thier dances from this year, but they also invite kids to add in to the profromance and they put them in the schudele. Also I got to dance in a extra dance because Carly didnt have a partner so she asked me to be here partner. The show was only an hour long and there were 10 dances. On sunday I went to my baby cousins birthday at Pizza Ranch in Winterset. Then I went home and played volleyball with my neighbors. I hope your weekend was as eventful as mine..
Our first field trip was the Capitol. The Capitol was very beautiful. Did you know that there was a fire in the capitol? In 1904 there was a fire in the Capitol, it was started by a candle being left lite and falling over. The guy that was gonna fix it was looking for damage in the attic above the room and he fell and died. That is my favorite fact about our capitol. My favorite room in the capitol is probably the library. The library has 5 stories, and all off them are FILLED with LAW books. THAT'S A LOT OF LAW BOOKS!! Any ways I think the library is cool because it has a dumbwaiter, those are hard to find now a days. Also in my opinion the library is the most beautiful place in the capitol. Another part I like about the capitol is the dome. The dome is cool and if you look up there's a banner with the flag on it. Also the flag is hanging on wires but if you standing on the 2nd floor you cant tell, but if your in the dome its easy to see. Behind the banner there's a painting of the sky and clouds and it looks like its really outside. Another really cool part about the capitol is the case with the dolls of the first lady's. I think that was a cool creation. It would also probably be hard and a lot of time taken to make all those dolls look exactly like they did at the ball. Even though I went on a field trip to the capitol last year, I think I enjoyed it more this year. The capitol is a very cool place. Below will be pictures of some of the things I mentioned. Our next field trip was to the Art Museum and the Sculpture Park. We saw a lot of different things at both places. We also did projects on some the artist of the paintings and sculptures, and they looked totally different in person. I think that if we wouldn't have done the project before going I think we would have got less out of the trip. Also we wouldn't be able to compare what the painting or sculpture looked like on the internet compared to how much cooler it looked in person. My favorite sculpture was "The White Ghost" because it was really cool. I think the mood of it was interesting. It looked lonely and sad. I also liked the "The Spider". Also learning about all these pieces were fun. It was interesting to learn where they got there inspiration. Like learning about the sculpture of the table and chairs and how it was sitting in their yard before it was at the sculpture park. Now the Art Museum. My favorite was "From the Lake No.1" . Not because it was Georgia's piece but because it looked way better in person then it did on the internet. When you see it in person you can see all the different value. Also in person you can tell that she started with sketching the different shapes of the sky and waves, like its not totally noticeable but if you get really close you can tell. I love the way her piece looks in person it looks very unique and creative, also in person you can tell how she got the inspiration and if you were there the inspiration would probably look identical to the painting. Another one I likes was called "Untitled" by Anselm Kiefer. It was inspired by the war. There are lots of details to it. If you look really close to it you can see railroad tracks in it. But if your not focused enough on it you wont be able to tell. It also has wires in it and a ladder. That painting was probably my second favorite. I will have pictures below of some of the things I talked about. If you ever are bored or looking for a place to go, these 3 places that I mentioned are very fun to be at. I highly suggest one day in the summer or a day your bored you should go to one of these places. I hope you enjoyed my blog post!
For our writing unit we got to choose a artist that has a piece or pieces of art at the Des Moines Art Center. I chose Georgia O'Keeffe. We are doing this unit because next Wednesday we have a field trip to the Art Center. My video below tells/shows you her piece at the Art Center that is on display and a lot about her paintings and her life.

It was hard and tiring. After the races we had a grill out at the track. I also had a sleepover with my friend. We stayed up until 5:00 am. Then on Sunday I had a family Easter. On Thursday I had a doctors appointment and then I left to go to Hayes Kansas for the races. The races were all weekend long. In Hayes we went shopping uptown and they had a lot of thrift stores. It was really fun. On Monday my friend from my old school and I taught ourselves how to rib-stick and kinda failed. On Tuesday I went down to my hometown to see all my old friends and my grandma. I rode my four-wheeler and helped my grandpa farm. I also rode my horse and went to go buy another horse. We named her Abbey. On Thursday my friend Mallory came over and we rode my horse. We also went to Pizza Ranch. After that we went to Walmart and made shirts. On Friday I came home and celebrated my mom and dads 17 year anniversary (even though it was Sunday). On Saturday I went to my friends and we had a sleepover and made up our own words and meanings. On Sunday night I stayed at my friends again and we tried to make clay and failed at it, So we put it on our faces. It felt like face plasterer, It also hurt to get off. I hope your Spring Break was a fun as mine.
